Family: Married to Amy Gudbrandsen since 1983. Our son, Mark (23), graduated from North Central College (a small, liberal arts college, not unlike Midd, located in Naperville, IL) in 2015 and now works as a clerk at a law firm.  Our daughter, Jamie (20), is a sophomore at the University of Kansas, majoring in Environmental Studies and Spanish.

Professional: I’ve been in education, one way or another, since leaving Midd.  As a high school science teacher (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) and coach (football, track, hockey, tennis, baseball, and basketball, at various times), I worked in Wayland, MA, Bennington, VT, Northbrook, IL, and Norridge, IL.  I also was an Outreach Education Coordinator for the Chicago Academy of Sciences and the Chicago Botanic Garden.  I retired from high school teaching in 2013, and I now work part-time as an Education Associate at an elementary school in Glenview, IL, where Amy and I live.

Song: I can’t just say one, so anything by Little Feat, The Grateful Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage, or Hot Tuna.
