Family info: during my last year at University of Michigan Law School, I decided to improve my social life by becoming an RA in an undergrad dorm. That is where I met my wife Nancy; we have been married for 33 years now. Our three kids are grown and far flung – in Texas, California and Taiwan. They went to big public universities and then directly to work after earning their undergraduate degrees. L to R above: Jack, Nancy, Barry, Jesse, Beth.

Professional background: I retired a couple years ago from practicing law, where I did my part to make Madison safe for real estate development. I also taught commercial real estate for six years as an adjunct at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Since retiring, Nancy and I have traveled a fair amount.
Favorite memories: intense, marijuana- and beer-fueled late night discussions about Big Important Issues; falling in love several times.
Memorable song: “Satellite of Love” by Lou Reed.
Memorable professors: they were all good. Munford, Conrad, Tillinghast, Dry, Rockefeller, Clifford, Vail, Sparks, Gura, etc. are the ones that immediately come to mind.
