Family Info:  I married Robert Grieves (Hamilton ’76)  in 1984 and we are still going strong some 31 years later… We have two daughters, Alex (Middlebury ’09), who is London-based working for a WPP group media company, and Tory (Hamilton ’12) who is pursuing a joint MBA/Masters of Env.Mgmt.atYale, and who is in Nepal with Dolma Impact Fund for her summer internship.

Bob and I have been living in Hong Kong since 2008.  We were also here for 5 years in the 1990s and in Beijing for 3 years in the 1980s.  In between we worked/lived in NYC and in New Canaan CT (where we still have a house we hope to return to one day!).

Professional Background:  Career-wise, I had a long run in international corporate banking and left JPMorgan Chase in 2001.  I then joined several not for profit boards. In 2009, after moving back to Hong Kong,  I co-founded Hamilton Advisors, a strategic communications (PR) firm and make the world a safer place for our clients, who are in financial services, property and various other sectors.  If this seems an abrupt turn, Bob was a financial journalist for 12 years before moving to the “dark side” of corporate communications and public relations.  I take care of the business side of the business and develop client relationships.

Favorite Memories:  My year in Le Chateau, with a wonderful, eclectic group of seniors and sophomores (all the juniors were abroad).  We had such a time with gourmet dinners, impromptu concerts and dance parties!  Oh, and I think we did actually speak French much of the time…

Memorable Professors:   Nicholas Clifford (who got me hooked on China),  Pardon Tillinghast (who wondered why I was) and David Price (who taught me to write)

Memorable Song:  There are so many!   I have to mention some favorites for listening — Cat Stevens (Morning has Broken),  Roberta Flack  (Killing me Softly), Eagles (Take it to the Limit) — and then the dance numbers  Stevie Wonder (Superstition), Labelle (Lady Marmalade), Gladys Night (Midnight Train).  And then who can forget Derek and the Dominos’ Layla? Though released before our year, it was played all the time.      Bob and I saw Clapton in Hong Kong two years ago and he was still fantastic.
